Intensive Out-Patient

Focused Support for Trauma, Addiction, and Relational Healing

Healing from trauma, addiction, betrayal, and dissociation often requires more than traditional weekly therapy. At The Niagara Centre for Healing and Recovery, our psychotherapy clinic in St. Catharines offers a trauma-focused Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for individuals throughout Niagara and Ontario seeking deeper healing and meaningful change.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program provides a structured and immersive therapeutic experience designed to support individuals struggling with PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation, betrayal trauma, compulsive sexual behaviour, and attachment wounds. Through a combination of evidence-based therapies and collaborative treatment planning, clients receive comprehensive care tailored to their unique needs and goals.

For many people, intensive treatment offers an opportunity to engage the healing process with greater depth, continuity, and support.

Understanding Intensive Therapy

An Intensive Outpatient Program bridges the gap between traditional weekly therapy and residential treatment. It allows individuals to engage in focused therapeutic work while remaining connected to their families, communities, and daily lives.

Trauma and addictive behaviours often impact every aspect of a person's life, including relationships, work, spirituality, and emotional well-being. Intensive therapy creates space to explore these challenges in a way that is difficult to achieve through standard treatment alone.

Our program is grounded in the understanding that healing occurs through safety, connection, and a compassionate exploration of the experiences that shaped us.

Common Reasons People Seek Intensive Therapy

Individuals may benefit from an Intensive Outpatient Program when they are experiencing:

  • Complex trauma and PTSD

  • Dissociation, OSDD, or DID

  • Pornography addiction or compulsive sexual behaviour

  • Betrayal trauma and relationship struggles

  • Anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm

  • Attachment wounds and family-of-origin issues

  • Difficulty making progress in traditional therapy

  • Significant life transitions or crises

  • A desire for deeper healing and personal growth

  • Persistent feelings of being "stuck"

Many individuals seek intensive therapy after years of struggling alone or feeling that weekly sessions are not enough to address the depth of their pain.

How Our Intensive Outpatient Program Helps

At The Niagara Centre, we believe that meaningful healing requires an integrated approach that addresses the mind, body, relationships, and spirit.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program may include:

Comprehensive Assessment and Treatment Planning

We begin by gaining a deeper understanding of each person's history, goals, strengths, and areas of struggle. Treatment is collaboratively designed to support lasting healing and recovery.

Trauma-Informed Therapies

Our clinicians integrate evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy

Because trauma and addiction often affect entire relational systems, treatment may include individual therapy, couples work, and family support.

Continuity of Care

Our team works collaboratively to ensure that clients receive consistent and specialized care throughout the healing process.

Because every story is unique, the structure and focus of the Intensive Outpatient Program are tailored to each individual's needs.

The Intensive Outpatient Program includes:

  • Twice weekly sessions for 50-minutes

  • 15-minute to 1 hour phone calls three days per week

  • Trigger and relapse support

  • Recovery/prevention and self care support

  • Cost: $2500 CAD per month

Begin Your Journey Toward Healing

Whether you are carrying the effects of trauma, struggling with addiction, or longing for deeper healing and connection, you do not have to navigate this journey alone.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program offers a compassionate and structured path toward recovery, helping individuals and families move beyond survival and toward lasting change.

The Niagara Centre for Healing and Recovery offers specialized care in St. Catharines and throughout Ontario.
